Blink Experience, an events management powerhouse based in Dubai, is behind some of the Middle East’s most iconic large-scale events, delivering large-scale, high-profile experiences across the Middle East and beyond. With their operations expanding across the region and into Europe, they needed a robust IT infrastructure to manage growing demands. However, as Blink grew, so did the challenges with their local server, which was struggling to keep pace with the company’s needs.
THE CHALLENGE
As Blink’s operations grew, its local server setup became a roadblock. “We had a local file share server that was difficult to control in terms of permissions. It lacked basic features like easy mapping or security provisions,” Ward Zumot, the IT manager at Blink Experience, explained. With an open server accessible to anyone on the network, the risk of data exposure was a serious concern.
“We were faced with two options: either rebuild the whole server locally or move to a cloud solution,” Zumot recounted. The Blink team opted for the latter and, through a recommendation from their account manager at Etisalat, they found their way to Bespin Global.
THE SOLUTION
After consulting with Blink, Bespin Global recommended migrating to Azure File Share, a cloud solution that would address the security gaps and improve remote access. “We knew we needed to migrate to a cloud-based Azure server. We had a rough idea of what we needed, permissions, storage types, and the technical framework, but Bespin’s team was crucial in refining that vision,” highlighted Zumot.
Bespin Global addressed Blink’s challenge through a structured, insight-driven approach that began with a deep assessment of the existing file server environment, data types, and access patterns to define the most effective cloud architecture.
Based on these insights, Bespin designed and deployed a secure Azure environment with optimized networking, seamless connectivity between on-premises and cloud, and strong identity integration to ensure business continuity.

Blink’s file servers were migrated to Azure Files using Azure File Sync, enabling secure access, intelligent tiering, and high availability while preserving existing permissions and workflows. To strengthen resilience and governance, Bespin implemented robust backup, monitoring, and advanced security controls, delivering a scalable, secure, and future-ready file storage platform that significantly improved operational efficiency and reliability.
Bespin’s networking team provided valuable guidance, suggesting more efficient ways to set up their infrastructure. “The way we were thinking of doing it wouldn’t have been the most efficient. The Bespin team, particularly the networking specialists, helped us properly manage storage allocation and set up the server in a much smarter way,” Zumot added.
THE RESULTS AND BENEFITS
With the migration to Azure completed, Blink immediately felt the benefits of their new cloud environment. “Now, it’s much more seamless. We have so much better control, and we’re in a much safer environment,” Zumot stated.
One of the major improvements was the Azure VPN, which replaced their outdated VPN solution and transformed remote work. “External access was super difficult with our old VPN. Now, with Azure, the connections are much more seamless.”
The security enhancements were especially important for Blink’s financial team, who now had confidence that their sensitive data was well protected. “Our financial team can rest easy knowing our data is secure, and employees can work seamlessly in remote or onsite environments without disruption.”
Simplified Operations and Faster Performance
The migration to Azure also brought operational benefits beyond security and remote access. “Managing folders and permissions from a centralized dashboard was a game-changer for us,” Zumot shared. Previously, they had to physically access the server room to make changes, which was both time-consuming and inefficient.
The reduced latency was another significant improvement. “Latency is almost nonexistent now, delivering a significantly improved user experience compared to the previous environment.”
In addition, the migration laid the groundwork for future innovations. “This move to Azure will make it easier for us to implement future solutions like Azure Virtual Desktops (AVD) and Intune. It’s just the first step in a long-term digital transformation,” Zumot emphasized.

Throughout the process, Blink had high praise for Bespin Global’s team. “The team was super responsive, especially the front-end team, like Maria, the account manager and Taher, the project manager. If they didn’t have the answer on the spot, which was rare, they would always get back to us within a few hours.”
Zumot also highlighted the expertise of the technical team. “The team was incredible. They made what seemed like a complicated process look easy. Bassam was super-efficient and knew exactly what needed to be done and how to get it done. It was a pleasure working with him.”
